12 hours `Ballari Bundh' was partially successful
In the cold weather and drizzling agitators assembled at Gadagi Chennappa Circle at 6 am, started their agitation against the state government decision about carving the Ballari district into two and formation of the `Vijayanagara' new district.
Daruru Purushothama Gowda, Convener of the committee, expressed, District In-charge Minister B.S. Anand Singh, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa carved the district, to safeguard their interests, without respecting the people emotional feelings.
Agitators burnt the portraits of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and District In-charge Minister B.S. Anand Singh along with tires.
Several organizations took bike rallies around the city, convinced the businessmen to close the shops and participate in the agitation.
The agitation was held very peacefully till the evening. Someone did horse and Donkey raiding to attract the mob and media.
