13 killed, over 50 wounded in Russian missile strike on Ukraine shopping mall

KYIV,Ukraine(Fast Mail News) - A Russian missile strike hit a crowded shopping centre in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk, killing at least 13 people and wounding over 50 people, according to sources.

Confirming the attack, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that there were more than 1000 people there when the attack took place. Although he did not give any information about the deaths, he did say that it is impossible to estimate the number of victims. According to the latest information, 13 people have died in this attack, while many people have been injured.

Zelensky said that it is meaningless to expect any kindness or humanity from Russia. The city's mayor, Vitaly Meletsky, said the attack had caused many deaths and wounded many, but did not give a death toll.

An adviser to President Zelensky said Russia attacked the shopping center because it wanted to kill people. The adviser said that if his intention was not to kill people, then what was the need of firing missiles at a time of day when there was a huge crowd of people.

Before the Russian invasion, Kremenchuk used to be a large industrial city of Ukraine. Here is the largest refinery of Ukraine,he said.Several videos and photos of the incident have surfaced on social media where the magnitude of the incident can be clearly seen.

Zelenskysaid  the attack  caused a huge fire and sent dark smoke billowing into the sky, footage circulated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed.

He said it is not yet possible to establish the number of victims for now. “A fire broke out in an area of more than 10 thousand square meters. The rescue operation continues, but we must be aware that the losses may be significant. As of now, we know about 12 dead and 24 wounded. We are establishing the number of people under the rubble”,the president said.

All the wounded will be provided with all the necessary assistance - Kyiv doctors have already left for Kremenchuk. The Minister of Internal Affairs is already there, he will coordinate all the necessary action, the president said.
