3 children died after being hit by a train in Punjab's Rupnagar
Rupnagar, Nov 28, (Fast Mail News):-- Three children have died after being hit by a passenger train on Sunday near Shri Kiratpur Sahib in Rupnagar district of Punjab. The police have also confirmed this incident. The Punjab government has ordered an inquiry on this incident. Giving information, the Punjab Police said that, the incident took place when four children of migrant laborers were playing near the railway track near the over bridge of river Sutlej. The police also said that a fourth child was injured in the incident and has been admitted to the hospital.
Police said that the children are between seven and 11 years old. Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains expressed grief over the incident and said that an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said in a tweet, “In a very sad incident, three children lost their lives in a train accident in Kiratpur Sahib. An inquiry has been ordered. My condolences are with the bereaved families.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh demanded compensation to the affected families. Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has also expressed grief over the incident. Congress Punjab unit chief Amarinder Singh Raja Wading tweeted, “Shocked and distressed by the tragic death of three children after being run over by a train near Kiratpur Sahib today. My deepest condolences to the parents of the children.
