35 killed in IED blast in Burkina Faso

 OUAGADOGU:At least 35 people have been killed and more than 37 injured in a powerful IED explosion in the West African country of Burkina Faso,a spokesman for the military government of Burkina said.

According to the spokesman, the explosion took place in a vehicle carrying civilians between the northern cities of Jibo and Borjanga. The area is dominated by Islamic terrorists. Terrorists have been targeting villages, police and military posts here since 2015.

 

 It is noteworthy that in the last decade, insecurity has increased in this country of West Africa. Al-Qaeda and Islamic State-affiliated groups have killed thousands despite the presence of foreign troops and UN peacekeepers. More than 10 lakh people have been displaced.
