75 mohalla clinics to start in punjab from august 15 in Punjab

(FMNews) - Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema has announced in the budget that 75 Mohalla Clinics will be opened in the state from August 15. Presenting the first budget of Mann government in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday, the Finance Minister said that 117 Mohalla Clinics will be opened by the government this year. Rs 77 crore will be spent on their establishment. In the first phase, 75 Mohalla Clinics are being started from August 15.



 The Finance Minister said that Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences would be established in Mohali. Work for this has already started. While making a provision of 4731 crores for strengthening the health services in Punjab, Cheema said that the Punjab Government has decided to provide speedy treatment to the people injured in the accidents. For this, the Farishtey scheme is being started on the lines of Delhi. Anyone can take the injured person to the hospital. The hospital will save the life of the victim by treating the victim without any inquiry. Instead of questioning the person who took the injured to the hospital, he would be honored.

He said that the Punjab government would establish 16 new medical colleges in the state during the next five years. This will increase the number of medical colleges in the state to 25. Along with this, the Finance Minister said that within the next two years, two super specialty hospitals will be established at Patiala and Faridkot. By the year 2027, three super specialty hospitals will be established in the state.
