Angul Coronavirus Update : Shopkeepers,vendors to be tested to detect COVID-19

(Fast Mail News) – Angul  district is starting rapid antigen tests of shopkeepers, vegetable vendors, milk sellers and other roadside vendors  from Wednessday to detect COVID-19, an official said.

Angul  Collector Sidhartha Sankar Swain issued an order on Wednesday  for the conduction of these tests in all eight blocks of the district.

 As per the directions of the Collector, Covid-19 Antigen testing of shopkeepers and footpath vendors of various areas of Angul block,Angul  municipality and in Banarpal block were taken  in the presence of Angul Tahsildar,Addl.Tsdr,Banarpal Addl.Tahasildar E.O,Municipality, and police personnel.

The rapid antigen tests would be conducted on Wednesday in each week   on shopkeepers, vegetable and fruit vendors, milk sellers, and other vendors, the official from the district administration said.

Shopkeepers will be called for tests to avoid crowding, the officials said, adding that staff of the local governing bodies have been deployed for the task.

Meanwhile,a total of Rs.5000/- was collected towards penalty for non-use of mask and not maintaining social distancing in Angul sub-division,a release said.
