Satkosia authorities had picked up some persons in this connection.But later arrested three forest watchers in this connection. The concerned forester has been suspended and a report has been sent to the government to take action against the ranger.
The DFO Saroj Panda said on Thursday we had got an intelligence input that an elephant had been buried somewhere in Jilinda range.On inquiry we reached the particular place and started digging on Thursday night.After some digging a skeleton was found and was recovered.
Panda also said that so far three watchers have been arrested and further investigations are on into the matter.He also informed that the concerned forester has been suspended and action has been initiated against Jilinda ranger for hiding the fact.
The recovery of a skeleton of a tusker followed by one in Athagarh subdivision has worried animal lovers who demanded strong action against the perpetrators of the crime.They also demand deterrent action to prevent such type of occurrences across the state.
