NEW DELHI:Police have arrested the son of a senior Uttarakhand BJP leader and two of his employees for the murder of a 19-year-old girl. According to the police, the victim used to work as a receptionist at the BJP leader's son's resort. However, the police are yet to recover the body of the deceased girl. At present, the investigation of this entire matter is going on.

According to the police, the girl has been missing for the past one week. The resort of the arrested accused Pulkit Arya is in Pauri district of Uttarakhand.

The police began investigation and took action as soon as the information about the missing girl went viral on social media. According to the police, the main arrested accused is the son of BJP leader Vinod Arya from Haridwar. Vinod Arya is on the post of minister in the state government. However, the state government has not given him any ministry.

Uttarakhand Police Chief Ashok Kumar issued a statement regarding the incident. He said that the place where this resort is located, there is no local police station. Patwari police registers a case regarding criminal incidents in that area. In this case too, the police registered a case regarding the disappearance of the girl. The FIR was lodged by the owner of the resort itself. This resort is about 10 kms from Rishikesh city.

Yesterday, the DM transferred the case  to us, and we made an arrest in the matter within 24 hours. The owner of the resort is the main accused in this whole case. Along with him, two other employees of the resort have also been made accused. Right now our team is busy in solving this matter, we are probing many angles.

On Friday, when the police arrested the accused in this case, the local people who were protesting against the incident attacked the accused. The policemen present there somehow saved the accused from that crowd and took with them.

The Congress has alleged that the police has shown a lot of slowness in taking action in this matter. They allege that the father of the main accused has good contacts with the BJP and the RSS, due to which the police is investigating the matter very comfortably.
