BJP 'mastermind' behind ongoing Maharashtra political turmoil,Shiv Sena alleges
MUMBAI:Amid the ongoing Maharashtra political crisis, the Shiv Sena on Thursday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the “mastermind” behind the rebellion by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde.
In an editorial in Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, the ruling party in Maharashtra asked if the BJP is saying it has nothing to do with the current political turmoil in Maharashtra, then why two of its ruling states are involved in this entire episode.
Notably, a group of rebel Maharashtra MLAs, led by Shinde, was taken to Gujarat’s Surat from Mumbai on Tuesday. They were later flown to Guwahati in Assam on Wednesday morning and were taken to a luxury hotel on the outskirts of the city amid tight security.
Alleging the BJP’s role in the ongoing political crisis that threatens to bring down the coalition government of two-and-a-half years in Maharashtra, the Sena said that the saffron party will be failing once again.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar had earlier alleged that a third attempt was being made to pull down the MVA government. Pawar, who played a crucial role in the formation of the MVA government, said it will complete its full five-year term. He ruled out going with the BJP, in case the state government falls.
The editorial said that the hardworking MLAs who were elected on Shiv Sena ticket, on money, are caught in the grip of BJP. They first went to Surat and later to Assam by special aircraft. Why is there so much running around these MLAs? We are not related to the developments going on under Shiv Sena, BJP should not make such a joke. BJP people from Maharashtra were present in Surat's hotel where this 'Mahamandal' was. Then as soon as these people go to Assam from Surat, the ministers of Assam are present at the Guwahati airport to welcome them.
It asked, the people of the state are not fools to understand the esoteric behind it. Hotels, airplanes, vehicles, special security arrangements are not the blessings of the BJP government only? We wish to appreciate the moral foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party. What will Kirit Somaiya do after yesterday, who attacked Shiv Sena MLAs on charges of corruption, economic malpractices, saying 'Now your place is in jail' by showing them the fear of ED, CBI and Income Tax?
All these MLAs have joined the BJP group since yesterday. The Bharatiya Janata Party has started secret meetings to establish power in Maharashtra. Urban Development Minister Shinde and the MLAs present with him will have to come to Mumbai first. At the time of the trust vote, the people of Maharashtra have to climb up the ladder of Vidhan Bhavan with the eyes of the people, the editorial threatened.
