NEW DELHI:nion Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the first full budget of the third term of the Modi government in the Lok Sabha. Nirmala Sitharaman has made many big announcements in the budget.
The Finance Minister emphasized the main points of the budget in her speech. She said, "In this budget, the government's focus is on issues like development of people, roadmap of developed India, energy security and increasing employment."
Nirmala Sitharaman said in the budget speech, "Our government's focus is on increasing natural farming. Also, the government will launch 109 varieties for 32 crops. Development of agriculture sector is the first priority.” Apart from this, the Finance Minister announced five schemes worth Rs 2 lakh crore for the youth.
She said that more than five crore youth will benefit and three schemes will be started to encourage employment generation. Also, a provision of Rs 1.52 lakh crore has been made for agriculture and related sectors. Farmers and their lands will get the benefit of digital public infrastructure. About six crore farmers will come under the purview of Farmer and Land Registry.
The budget also focuses on the eastern states. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the eastern states will become the engine of developed India. She has announced three new expressways for Bihar, new roads at a cost of Rs 26 thousand crore and an industrial hub in Gaya.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme has been started, under this solar panels will be installed on the roofs, due to which one crore families will be able to get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. This scheme will promote it further."
