Cyrus Mistry cremated with Parsi customs in Mumbai
Mumbai, Sep 6 (Fast Mail News):-- The last rites of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry were performed as per Parsi customs at the Worli Crematorium on Tuesday. 54-year-old Cyrus Mistry was killed in a road accident in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Sunday afternoon.
The body of Cyrus Mistry, decorated with white flowers, was taken from JJ Hospital to Worli Crematorium on Tuesday morning as his friends, relatives and well-wishers paid their last respects. Members of the Parsi community, business leaders and politicians attended the cremation. Simon Tata, stepmother of senior industrialist Ratan Tata, also attended the funeral.
Cyrus Mistry's elder brother Shapoor Mistry, father in-law and senior advocate Iqbal Chagla, industrialist Anil Ambani, HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh, Ajit Gulabchand and NCP MPs Supriya Sule and Milind Deora also reached the crematorium to bid him a final farewell.
Mistry was returning to Mumbai from Udvada in South Gujarat on Sunday. The Mercedes car in which Mistry was returning to Mumbai collided with a divider on a bridge on the Surya river in Palghar district on Sunday afternoon, killing him and Jehangir Pandole on the spot. Driving the car, Gynecologist Anahita Pandole (55) and her husband Darius Pandole (60) were injured in the accident, both of whom are undergoing treatment.
