Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visits Amarnath temple

 New Delhi, July 18 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who embark on a two-day visit to Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, started his second day on Saturday by paying obeisance to Baba Amarnath. He also took stock of security arrangements over there. He was accompanied by Chief of Military Forces (CDS) Bipin Rawat and Chief of Army Staff MM Naravane.

Singh prayed for world peace by worshiping Lord Shiva in the cave of Amarnath. After visiting Baba Barfani this morning, he will now visit the Pakistan border (LoC) and review the Army's deployment and operations and also visit the forward posts.

 

 During his two day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Rajnath Singh yesterday reached Ladakh region where he reviewed the on ground preparations on the border area across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) amid the ongoing face-off between India and China.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held a high-level security review meeting till late night at the Head Quarters of the 15th Corps of the Army at Badami Bagh.
