Devendra Fadnavis performs the official maha-puja of Shri Vil-Rukmini

Mumbai, Nov 04:-- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amrita Fadnavis performed the official mahapooja of Shri Vil-Rukmini on the occasion of Karthiki Ekadashi in the early hours of Friday. Uttamrao Salunkhe and his wife Kalavati Salunkhe of Aurangabad district were honored as Varkaris (pilgrimage) in this official Mahapuja.

Salunkhe family retired from government service are doing Karthiki Vaari (Pilgrimage) for the last 50 years. Devendra Fadnavis told reporters after the Mahapuja that the Pandharpur Corridor would be developed as a pilgrimage site. There will be no shortage of funds for this.

After the Mahapuja, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Health Minister Tanaji Sawant were honored by the temple committee chairman Gahininath Maharaj Ausekar. After the official Mahapuja, the darshan of the Lord was started for the devotees. On the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi Lord Vitthal is dressed in yellow colored Pitambar clothes. A gold crown is also placed on the head.

There is an influx of devotion in Pandharpur on the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi. People queue up for Chandrabhaga bath. The name of Hari is being chanted in Pandharpur. Will temple was lit with lamps.
