Firecrackers poison the air in Delhi

 NEW DELHI:Despite the ban on Diwali in the capital Delhi, a lot of firecrackers were allegedly burst. Due to this, the air in Delhi reached a bad level. Delhi's air quality index was recorded at 323 during the night. This is a very poor level. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research, Delhi's overall AQI stood at 323.



 The AQI of Delhi University was 365 in different areas and 354 for the airport area. Mathura Road had an AQI of 322 and Gurugram 342. Noida had 305, Greater Noida 274, Faridabad 254 and Ghaziabad 300 AQI.

 Meanwhile, to reduce pollution in Delhi, the Kejriwal government has announced to launch 'Red Light On and Car Off' campaign. This means that if the traffic light is red then the vehicles should be stopped.
