Four killed in Malda road accident

Maldah, 23 June (FMNews) -Four people, including a four-year-old child, were killed and three were injured in a road accident in Golbari area of ??Jajal gram panchayat of Habibpur police station in Malda district in the early hours of Thursday. The injured are being treated at Maldah Medical College Hospital.

According to sources, 12 people from Lansa area of ??Kanturka gram panchayat of Habibpur police station in Maldah district were returning from a wedding ceremony in a van. The van collided with a pickup van in Goyalbari area. All the injured were taken to the local Bulbulchandi RN Roy Rural Hospital with the help of local people. Four-year-old Abhijit Hansda and Shukurmani Mahto (35) died during treatment.

The critically injured were admitted to Maldah Medical College Hospital.Meanwhile,two more people died at Maldah Medical College Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Amal Mahto (40) and Sukumar Tudu. All of them are said to be residents of Kanturka Panchayat area of ??Habibpur police station. The injured in the accident Meera Soren, Pramila Soren and Mangal are under treatment at Mandi Hospital. The bodies have been sent by the police for post-mortem. There is a wave of mourning in the area after the deaths in this accident.
