Four soldiers including officer martyred in encounter with terrorists in J&K's Doda

 Jammu, July 16(FMNews):- Four army soldiers including an officer were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place yesterday evening in Shia Dhar Chaund Mata forest area of Koti village,about 300 kms from Doda in Jammu division.

According to an officer, five security personnel including an army officer were injured in the encounter. The injured were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Four jawans including an officer were martyred among them. Meanwhile,security forces have cordoned off the area and additional security forces were sent to the spot.

According to him,the encounter started when the jawans of the National Rifles and the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint cordon and search operation in the forest area at around 7:45 pm.

 

 The Army's White Knight Corps wrote in a post on X at night, "Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation was going on in the general area north of Doda by the Army and the Police. After getting information about the whereabouts of the terrorists at around 9 pm, heavy firing between the army jawans and terrorists took place.

Additional troops have been sent to the area,reports said.

It may be noted that 24 hours ago, security forces killed three terrorists in Kupwara in North Kashmir. A large quantity of weapons have been recovered from the three killed terrorists. The terrorists killed in the encounter near the Line of Control were preparing for a major attack. Alert police and army personnel foiled their nefarious intentions.
