GEM - 2022 Inaugurated at NTPC Kaniha to empower young girls
While inagurating K Srinivasa Rao, Executive Director (Talcher Kaniha), said, this is a very good initiative of NTPC with an effort towards empowering the young girls to realize their dreams and aspiration.
He said that the initiative GEM motivates the girl child to nurture her creativity, sharpen psychological, social, and emotional growth, and makes learning a lively, engaging, and impactful experience.
Through this unique strategic CSR initiative, NTPC aims to make every girl aware about essential education, health and self-defense programs and also create a room for the children to showcase their talents and capabilities,he said.

President, Tanvi Sangam, Smt.K.Swarnalatha Rao, also spoke on the occasion in the local language Odia to better relate to the girls, and elaborated on how educating a girl leads to educating a Nation.
As a part of the program 110 Girls from nearby 22 schools have been registered for GEM-2022. The Kendriya Vidyalaya School, NTPC PTS was prepped up to welcome the little GEMs to NTPC Kaniha.
The program was inaugurated by K Srinivasa Rao, Executive Director (Talcher Kaniha), President Tanvi Sangam, Smt. K Swarnalatha Rao, General Manager (O&M), GM (Operation), GM (C&I/Maintenance), GM (Projects), GM(FM), GM(Ash Handling), GM (Ash Dyke Mgmt), GM (HR), HODs, Union & Association representatives.
