Government's behavior a threat to democracy: Kharge

 New Delhi, August 04 (Fast Mail News) - Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on Thursday at 12.30. Kharge himself gave this information in Rajya Sabha today. He said that such behavior of the ruling party is a threat to democracy. He said that the Central Government is misusing the investigating agencies.

  Kharge said in Rajya Sabha that he wants to follow the law but should notice be given to the ED at a time when the House is running? While gheraoing the Central Government in the House, Kharge said that is it right to gherao the residences of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with police force? Kharge said that such behavior of the ruling party is a threat to democracy. He said that the Central Government is misusing the investigating agencies.


 On this statement of Kharge, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that there is no pressure from the Central Government on any investigating agency. Those are working independently. He said that there may have been pressure on the investigating agencies during the Congress rule, we are not doing anything like this,Goyal said.

 It is noteworthy that today former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also raised many serious questions on the Central Government. Rahul said that the central government is intimidating to silence the Congress, but the party will continue to raise issues of public interest. We are not going to come under any pressure. Rahul said that no barricade can stop the truth. Congress will continue to do the work of protecting the country, protecting democracy, maintaining brotherhood in the country.
