HUL's net profit rose 10.7 per cent to Rs 2,185 crore

 New Delhi, 19 Oct(FASTMAIL) - Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), a major FMCG company, has consolidated its net profit for the second quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal to Rs 2,185 crore, up 10.69 per cent. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 1,974 crore in the second quarter of last fiscal.

 

 

 HUL told the stock exchange on Tuesday that its net sales during the quarter under review rose 11.31 per cent to Rs 12,812 crore from Rs 11,510 crore in the year-ago period. HUL's total expenditure during the second quarter was Rs 10,129 crore as against Rs 9,054 crore in the same period a year ago.

According to Sanjeev Mehta, CMD, Hindustan Unilever Limited, business conditions have gradually improved during the second quarter. There were also challenges due to unprecedented levels of cost inflation and sluggish consumer sentiment. Under such circumstances, we recorded a double-digit increase in profits with a strong performance.
