I am working hard on my process: Virat Kohli

New Delhi, Sep 26, (Fast Mail News):-- After a silent couple of games, Virat Kohli roared back to life in the series decider against the Aussies as the former Indian skipper pumped out a match-winning masterclass, once again underlining the fact why he is such a brilliant finisher.

Not only did he win the game emphatically for the Men in Blue but his presence in the middle was iconic as he very calmly steered the Indian ship away from any immediate jeopardy after they suffered a double whammy at the start of the innings, before taking the team within touching distance of the finish line.

Over the last two series for India, Virat Kohli has looked at his dominating best. Speaking in the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli shared what has changed ever since the Asia Cup. “I have enjoyed batting ever since I came back at the Asia Cup. Today also I was an hour and a half before the team. I am working hard on my process and happy with my contributions,” he said.

Perhaps the most impressive part of Kohli's innings was his counter-attacking approach against the leg-spin of Adam Zampa who has been a nemesis for the Indian ace, that too on a track where the Indian spinners had looked highly effective. Kohli highlighted the plans he had in store for the leggie. “I have to utilize my experience and had to take down Zampa. I made up my mind to go after him. He is a quality bowler and tries to control my scoring. I knew he was attacking my stumps, so was outside the leg stump. I am making a conscious effort to strike those big ones through the middle overs,” he revealed.

It was a breathtaking 104-run stand between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav that not only sailed India past troubled waters but put the team ahead in the game. Virat Kohli was full of admiration for the stellar knock by SKY. "I looked at the dugout and both Rahul and Rohit asked me to continue batting. He has the game to bat in any conditions, he got a hundred in England, then batted well in Asia Cup. Here he is striking the ball as well as I have seen him in the last six months. It's just the array of shots and to play the shots at the right time is such a good skill to have, and he does that,” said the RCB batter.

He also pointed out what was exactly going on in his mind and how he tackled the ever-evolving thriller that went down till the penultimate ball of the innings. Kohli said, “The game shouldn't have gone for that long, and we should have had four or five runs to chase in the last over. It was important to maintain my composure and get one boundary which I was able to do (in the last over)."
