IPL: Kolkata beat Bangalore in eliminator match, will now face Delhi

 Sharjah / New Delhi,FASTMAIL - In the eliminator match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has entered the qualifier-2 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 4 wickets. The hero of Kolkata's victory was Caribbean all-rounder Sunil Narayan. He first showed the way to the pavilion to 4 batsmen of Bangalore, then while batting, he made a big contribution of 26 runs by making big shots on the spot. Now Kolkata will face Delhi Daredevils to reach the final for the IPL title.

Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangalore team could only make 138 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Kolkata achieved the target with two balls remaining.

Chasing the target of 139 runs given by Bangalore, KKR's team got off to a great start. Openers Shubhaman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer added 41 runs for the first wicket. The pair was broken by Hershal Patel by dismissing Gill. Gill scored 29 off 18 balls with the help of four fours. However, after this, Rahul Tripathi (6) could not stay at the crease for long. Rahul was made his victim by Yajuvendra Chahal. Shortly afterwards, Herschel gave the third blow to KKR and showed Venkatesh (26) the way to the pavilion.


 Sunil Narayan, who came on the field like good news for Kolkata, along with Nitish Rana made a fierce run. Rana scored 23 runs off 25 balls with the help of a four and a six, while Narayan scored 26 runs off 15 balls with the help of three sixes. In the end, Captain Morgan and Shakib-al-Hasan completed the victory.
Earlier, the RCB team, which won the toss and elected to bat, had also made a smooth start. Opener Devdutt Padikal and skipper Virat Kohli shared 49 runs for the first wicket. However, Ferguson broke the handling pair by dismissing Devdutt. Devdutt scored 21 runs in 18 balls with the help of two fours. After this, Sunil Narayan formed his maze and broke the batting order of Bangalore by taking four wickets one after another. Narayan first made Shrikar Bharat (9), then Kohli (39) and De Villiers (11) his victims. In his last over, he bowled Maxwell (15) and turned the tide on Bangalore's plan to put up a big score. For Kolkata, Sunil Narayan took 4 wickets and Loki Ferguson took 2 wickets.
