ISL-7: Kerala Blasters beat Hyderabad 2-0

 Goa, 28 December (FastMail) - The Kerala Blasters recorded their first win of the seventh season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) by defeating Hyderabad FC 2-0 in a match played at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Sunday night. For Kerala Blasters, Abdul Hakku scored in the 29th minute and Jordan Murray in the 88th minute.

 

This is Kerala's first win in seven matches and now it has reached the ninth position in the table with six points. The team has won three and drawn three. Hyderabad has suffered its second defeat in seven matches. The team has won two and drawn three and is now eighth in the table with nine points.

 

 

  Both the teams could not make chances against each other in the opening minutes and then in the 20th minute Sahal Abdul Samad of Kerala was shown the yellow card of the match. However, Kerala did not have much trouble with this card and opened its account in the 29th minute. Abdul Hakku scored a header on Fakundo Pereira's assist to give the Kerala Blasters a 1-0 lead. This is Hakku's first goal of the season and ISL history.

 

 Hyderabad had to fall behind by one goal in the first half. After the start of the second half, Kerala lost three chances to double their lead within the first five minutes. Even in the 58th minute, Rahul KP's shot from outside the box was saved by the goalkeeper in the best way.

 

 Hyderabad made two changes in the 66th minute and one in the 74th minute. Even after this, the team was still trailing by one goal in the match. Five minutes later, Kerala also made its first change in the match. In an attempt to double their lead, Kerala claimed their first win of the season with a 2-0 score in the 88th minute with the help of a brilliant goal by Jordan Murray.
