Kanhaiyalal murder case: NIA should investigate and punish the accused as soon as possible - Chief Minister Gehlot

Jaipur, 30 June (FMNews) - Terming the Kanhaiyalal murder case of Udaipur as a terrorist incident, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that this incident has shaken the entire country. The manner in which the murder was committed is a heinous crime. Taking immediate and prompt action, we caught both the accused and handed over the case to the Special Investigation Team (SOG)-Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and found out overnight that the matter is related to international organizations.

Appealing to the people of the state, he said that there is no need for any dharna-demonstration in the districts, in the blocks to protest against this incident. People should maintain peace. The government is fully prepared, serious, sensitive and that is how we are taking action, the chief minister said.

Before leaving for Udaipur on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that this is not a matter of quarrel between two religions, so when this terrorist activity took place under UAPA, a case has been registered by the SOG under its sections.

“Immediate action has been taken by the state government and when I took a meeting with the leaders of all the political parties on Wednesday, everyone praised it in one voice”,Gehlot said.

He patted the government on the fact that if the accused were not caught, it would have been difficult if they could run away, do not know where they would have gone and secondly, sections have been imposed.

He said that the cases which have been registered under the UAPA in the name of terrorism, after that the Central Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken the case, now the SOG will give full cooperation to them, because their scope is huge.

He admitted that the anger that has arisen in the hearts about this incident, every citizen, irrespective of religion, caste, should get speedy justice, speedy action and the accused should be punished at the earliest. He expressed hope that the NIA will understand this sentiment, in the same way, they will do the investigation quickly and reach the conclusion, which the common people expect.
