Kerala Minister in trouble for distributing Quran through office.

KOCHI, August 1 : Fresh controversy has erupted after the Kerala Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel admitted that he had distributed the Quran along with the Ramazan food kits from the UAE Consulate in the state capital.

It has come to light that the State-owned Kerala State Centre for Advanced Printing and Training (C-APT) under the department of higher education distributed thousands of copies of Quran which were received as a gift from the UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram.

Offcials of the customs department conducted a late night raid in the offices of C-APT on Thursday-Friday and found stocks of Quran received from the UAE. The raid was held following the disclosures made by Swapna Suresh and Sandeep Nair, the main accused in the gold smuggling through diplomatic channel. According to the information trickling out of the customs office, team of officials came across bunches of Quran stored in the C-APT office.

While there is nothing illegal in distribution of Quran or Bible to the general public, the fact that the religious book reached a government office without the  prior intimation to the Ministries of External Affairs and Home have shocked the officials. “It is illegal on the part of the minister to accept such gifts and undertake the distribution through government network. There are stringent laws in place to check such activities,” Dr T P Senkumar, former Chief of Kerala Police who was also the director general of intelligence told Hindusthan Samachar.

Jaleel, a former leader of SIMI, an Islamic extremist organization that has been banned by the Centre, is already in the dock for undertaking distribution of Ramzaan kits offered by the UAE Consulate. This too was against all norms set by the EAM. Kerala is already in the news for being home to Islamic State terrorists and Love Jihad, a modus operandi by which Hindu and Christian girls are converted to Islam under the pretext of marriage and dispatched to war zones of the IS to be sold as sex slaves.
