Kerala's hilly regions and some other parts received heavy rains last evening

 THIRUANANTHPURAM:In Kerala, hilly regions and some other parts received heavy rains last evening, inundating several low-lying areas. Rains were reported in the eastern regions of Pathanamthita, Kottayam, Idukki, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and other places. Although landslides took place at some places, no loss of life was reported.

 

Meanwhile, the water level in the Mullaperiyar dam has crossed 136 feet last evening as against its full reservoir level of 142 feet. The reservoir is receiving 5650 cusecs of water following heavy rains in its catchment areas.

 

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Kozhikode, and Wynad districts. It said thunderstorms with lightning are also likely at one or two places.
