Lachit Barphukan was a Mughal victorious hero: Modi

 NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Lachit Barphukan was such a hero who is called Mughal victorious hero. He always worked with the spirit of nation first. It is a matter of pride for us to celebrate the 400th birth anniversary of Lasit Borphukan.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the year-long programs organized on the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Barphukan, general and brave warrior of the erstwhile Ahom Kingdom, at Vigyan Bhavan, PM Modi said that today the country is proud of its heritage leaving the mindset of slavery. The country is not only celebrating its cultural diversity but also proudly remembering the historical heroes and heroines of its culture. In this episode, Lachit Barphukan is also being remembered.

PM Modi said that we have got the privilege of celebrating the 400th birth anniversary of Veer Lachit in the period when the country is celebrating the nectar festival of its independence. This historical festival is a glorious chapter in the history of Assam.



 PM Modi said that the history of India is not just the history of the Mughals. The history of India is the history of victory. The history of India is the history of showing unprecedented bravery and bravery against the oppressors. PM Modi said that great personalities like Lasit, the immortal children of Mother India, are our inspiration to fulfill the resolutions of this Amritkal. PM said that he salutes the land of Assam which has given indomitable heroes like Lasit Borphukan to Mother India.

It is notable that today the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of Lasit Borphukan have been organized at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi. It has been the endeavor of Prime Minister Modi to honor the unsung heroes in a befitting manner. Accordingly, the country is celebrating 2022 as the 400th birth anniversary year of Lachit Bodphukan.

Lachit Borphukan was a general in the erstwhile Ahom kingdom of Assam. The Mughal army led by Aurangzeb was not allowed to capture Assam by leading the 1671 Battle of Saraighat. Remembering his bravery, Lasit Borphukan Day is celebrated on 24 November in Assam.
