Maharashtra: Two killed,10 injured as MSRTC bus hits seven vehicles
MUMBAI:A fire broke out after an ST bus crushed three vehicles at Palashe Chowaphuli bus stand in Nashik district. Two people died in the incident while 10 people are undergoing treatment at Nashik district hospital. Due to the alertness of the local citizens, 43 passengers aboard the bus were saved. The Nashik Police team is probing the matter thoroughly.
According to the police, an ST bus was already parked at Palashe Chauphuli bus stand in Nashik district. As per reports,three two-wheeler drivers were also waiting for the bus to leave. Suddenly another ST bus lost control and collided with the already parked bus from behind. All the three two-wheeler drivers were crushed to death in the incident.
Two two-wheeler drivers died on the spot. Soon after the incident, a sudden fire broke out in the uncontrolled ST bus. On seeing this, the people present at the bus stand immediately started pulling people out of the burning bus and the already standing ST bus was immediately removed and 43 passengers aboard the bus narrowly escaped.
Harshada Manges Ponde, Rupali Sachin Divate, Samridhi Sachin Divate, Saeeda Inamdar, Mustafa Sheikh, Nasma Jahangirdar, Owais Ahmed, Sitaram Devram Kurne and two others were injured in the incident. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the fire brigade personnel immediately reached the spot and extinguished the fire in the bus.
