Maharasthra Turmoil: Number of Shiv Sena rebel MLAs rose to 36,one more MLA neded to split party
Mumbai: With three more Shiv Sena rebel MLAS camp joined in Assam’s Guwahati the the rebel camp strength rose to 36.
Three more Shiv Sena MLAs left for Guwahati in Assam this morning to join the rebel camp. Deepak Kesakar (MLA from Sawantwadi), Mangesh Kudalkar (Chembur) and Sada Sarvankar (Dadar) reportedly joined the rebel camp.They took the morning flight from Mumbai to Guwahati today.
The Shinde camp now has 36 MLAs (out of the party's 55 MLAs) on its side. It needs just one more to split the party without facing disqualification under anti-defection laws. Five Independent MLAs are with Mr Shinde too.
Meanwhile,last night,Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray moved out of his official residence last night, hours after an emotional appeal and an offer to quit. Shiv Sena rebels have written to the Governor declaring Eknath Shinde as their leader.
