Monsoon hits Odisha; heavy rains likely in many districts,yellow warning issued

 BHUBANESWAR: Southwest monsoon winds have swept across the state. According to the Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in many districts of the state for the next five days, including thunderstorms.

In the next 24 hours, i.e. on the 21st, by noon on Tuesday, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in one or two places in the districts of Odisha. Heavy rains are expected in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Nuapadha, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal districts.

The Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Department issued a warning this morning that thunderstorms are likely in one or two other districts of Odisha. With this in mind, the Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Center has issued yellow warnings for all these districts.


 On the other hand, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in the interior Odisha district and many parts of the northern coastal Odisha during this time, according to a warning issued by the Bhubaneswar-based Regional Meteorological Center.

The skies around Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are partly cloudy, are with light to moderate thunderstorms in some parts of Bhubaneswar and light showers in some parts of Cuttack.

On the other hand, the maximum temperature (daytime temperature) is not likely to change in most parts of most districts of Odisha for the next four to five days, according to a warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Center.
