Moroccan King Appoints RNI Leader Aziz Akhannouch as New Prime Minister

 RABAT: Moroccan King Mohammed VI has appointed Aziz Akhnouch, president of the Rally of the Independents, as the new prime minister.

Akhnouch will now form the new government. In fact, parliamentary elections were held in Morocco on Wednesday.


  In these elections, the Rally of Independents got the highest number of 102 seats out of 395. In contrast, the Justice and Development Party of former Prime Minister Saad Dain al-Otmani's party got only 13 seats. A day later, the JDP decided to resign from the government. He called the results inconsistent.
