MoS for Education Subhas Sarkar says govt is committed to transforming India into global education hub, attracting international students
New Delhi, Nov 17:-- Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar has said that the government is committed to transforming India into a global education hub and attracting international students. He said, the ambitious Study in India program launched by the government is a great step in this direction.
The Minister said, under the programme, the government proposes to attract international students from 35 countries initially and this number will go up later. Dr Subhas Sarkar was addressing the two day FICCI Higher Education Summit -2022 in New Delhi on the theme,'Global Destination for Higher Education Advantage: India'.
The Minster added that education has become more internationalized and the demand for quality education goes beyond geographies. Throwing light on National Education Policy 2020, Dr Sarkar said, it envisions an education system rooted in Indian ethos that contributes directly to transforming India.
