NCDC and S-VYASA Join Hands to Bring Yoga Wellness Centres to Villages
Speaking on the occasion the Union Minister for AYUSH Shri Shripad Yesso Nayak said that the arrangements made by the two premier institutions is very timely and would benefits of Yoga to rural areas. He observed that his Ministry supports such initiatives aimed at strengthening of efforts in Indian health systems, including Yoga which is a global movement.
Present on the occasion, Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare complimented NCDC on the fact that a new dimension has been added by NCDC to expand the welfare programmes for farmers under the NCDC Ayushman Sahakar scheme he had launched two months back. He said that Yoga Wellness centres also make good business model for cooperatives to strengthen healthcare delivery system to rural areas.
Guruji Nagendra, Padmashri Awardee for his immense contribution in Yoga, is the Chancellor of S-VYASA. He said that a new dimension would be explored through cooperatives across the country. Technical might of S-VYASA and financial strength of NCDC would be an ideal combination to support Yoga Centres.
For building mutual cooperation the MOU was signed today to learn, assimilate and develop further on the core strengths, experience and institutional objectives in the public interest of outreach of healthcare services and Yoga education and training, evidence based research, studies, policy analysis, policy advice, consultancy, monitoring, evaluation, system development and technology development on issues and areas related to development of farmers and cooperatives as comprehensive and holistic approach to health and medical pluralism for sustainable development. The MoU also aims to promote skilling of students or alumni of S-VYASA through internship opportunities offered by NCDC under its scheme Sahakar Mitra.
