Odisha: BJP MLA from Dhamnagar Bishnu Charan Sethi passes away

 BHUBANESWAR:Senior BJP leader and deputy leader of opposition Bishnu Charan Sethi (61) has passed away this morning. Sethi, suffering from kidney ailment, breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. People from different sections of the society, dignitaries have condoled his death.

Sethi was the deputy leader of the opposition in the assembly. The two-time MLA, representing Dhamnagar assembly seat, was hospitalised for past two months. Recently, he developed lung infections and suffered from brain haemorrhage, the AIIMS authorities said. Sethi leaves behind his wife Urmilarani, a son and a daughter.



 Before Dhamnagar assembly seat, he was also representing as MLA from Chandbali assembly constituency. He raises his voice against the state government in the assembly on various issues.

Along with the politician, he also made his mark as a litterateur. Poetry compilations and essay compilations have been published in his books. More recently, after being elected as the President, he wrote a poem about Draupadi Murmu, which he presented to her by visiting Rashtrapati Bhavan.
