Odisha Minister and MLA seen riding bike without helmets, fined Rs1,000

 BALESWAR: Odisha schools and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das and Sadar MLA Swarup Kumar Das were seen riding a bike in Balasore today.The incident  came to fore this morning while the duo minister and the MLA were visiting various schools today and was caught by thetraffic police.The traffic police reportedly have fined the driver Rs 1,000 for this negligence.

According to sources, the  education minister Sameer Ranjan Das and Balasore MLA Swarup Das were seen riding motorcycles without a helmet while inspecting the various schools in Balasore . The MLA Swarup Kumar Das was riding the bike and School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das was sitting behind him. Police had fined Rs 1,000 in the name of bike owner Pankaj Agrawal. How ever,MLA Swarup Kumar Das paid the fine.



 Notably, the Minister for Schools and Mass Education, who was on a visit to Balasore, suddenly arrived at a school. Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Das is visiting various schools in Baleshwar. This morning, the minister and MLA Swarup Das visited Baleshwar Town High School, Barabati Girls High School and other schools and held talks with the students.

 The minister said he had looked into the situation at the school and discussed the needs of the children. He added that more than 200,000 students had dropped out of private schools and returned to government schools, and that their interest in government schools was growing. With the appointment of 11,000 new teachers in the state, the minister said, it is hoped that the High Court will allow it on Monday.After the chief minister returns from abroad, the appointment process will take place. The Minister for Schools and Mass Education also distributed chocolates to the children.
