Parts of West Bengal to receive heavy rainfall: Meteorological Department

Kolkata, July 18:-- The Meteorological Department's regional headquarter in Alipur said on Saturday that the weather will be partly cloudy in Kolkata. Thunderstorms are expected in the region and excess of vapor in the air will increase moisture. There will be sporadic heavy rains in the districts of North Bengal on Sunday. Weather will change from Saturday night. Heavy rains are expected in North Bengal on Monday too. More than 200 mm of rain is expected. Besides, heavy rains are also expected to occur in the adjoining areas of South Bengal district early next week. 
 According to the Met Office, the minimum temperature in Kolkata on Saturday will be 26.6°C, which is one degree higher than normal. The maximum temperature will be 33.6°C, which is one degree higher than normal. The relative humidity in the air is maximum 90 per cent. Relative humidity is at least 6 per cent higher. 
In the next two days, scattered rains are expected in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar. On Sunday, rain will pour in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri. Heavy rains is expected throughout the day on Sunday. There will be heavy rains in Malda, North and South Dinajpur too. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm in these three districts. Rains will increase from Sunday. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Birbhum, Murshidabad, mainly adjoining North Bengal. Besides, Kolkata and other parts of South Bengal will also receive rain.
