PM Modi to launch 5G service at India Mobile Congress on October 1

 New Delhi: 5G services will be started in India from October 1,according to th Telecom ministry. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services at 'India Mobile Congress' at the 'India Mobile Congress' to be held at Pragati Maidan which will run till October 4.

Claiming to be the largest telecom, media and technology forum in Asia, the India Mobile Congress (IMC) is jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav said last week that the government has set a target of 80 per cent coverage of 5G telecom services in the country in a short time frame. In the first phase, 5G telecom services are likely to be made available in about 13 cities across the country.



 Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said, 'With 5G users will get 10 times more internet speed than 4G'.

At the same time, Vaishnav had also dismissed the apprehensions regarding the radiation effect of 5G. He had said, 'The level of radiations generated by 5G service is far below the level recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).'
