PM went abroad 21 times in Modi 2.0, Jaishankar made 86 trips, gov spent more than 43 crores on both trips
The government kept the details of expenses incurred on foreign trips of top leaders in Parliament on Thursday.
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made 21 foreign trips on which more than Rs 22.76 crore was spent. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan gave this information in Rajya Sabha in a written reply to a question during the proceedings of the budget session. He said that the President had made eight foreign trips since 2019 on which an amount of over Rs 6.24 crore was spent.
Muraleedharan said that since 2019, the President made eight foreign trips, while the Prime Minister made 21 and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made 86 foreign trips. Since 2019, Prime Minister Modi has visited Japan thrice, the US twice and the United Arab Emirates once. Of the eight presidential visits, seven were undertaken by Ram Nath Kovind while the current President Draupadi Murmu visited the UK last September.
