Priyanka Gandhi's jibe at Nirmala Sitharaman : 'I don't know in which planet she is living on'

NEW DELHI: Opposition parties on Monday have slammed the central government on issues including rising inflation and unemployment in the country, income inequality.The parties have also alleged that the poor and rural population have not been taken care of in the Union Budget.

Congress MP Manikam Tagore said on the speech of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha,"It is unfortunate that the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Foreign Minister, Defense Minister were not present in the House. All the major opposition leaders were present in the House. She (Nirmala Sitharaman) always gives political speeches in the reply speech to the budget."

On the speech of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said, "Many important issues were raised in the House, she did not answer them. The Finance Minister made it very political."

 

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday took a dig at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and said that I don't know in which planet she lives that she is not able to see inflation and unemployment.

Responding to the discussion on the budget in the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said that there are many domestic and global reasons behind the fall in the value of rupee against the US dollar.

She said that during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, inflation was in double digits and had reached more than 10, but now such a situation is not there at all.

On this, Priyanka Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament premises, "I don't know in which world she (Finance Minister) lives. She is saying that unemployment has not increased, inflation has not increased."
