Root reached the top in the ICC Test rankings, Kohli out of the top five

 Dubai, 1 September (FMNews.). Joe Root, captain of the England cricket team in excellent form in the ongoing Test series against India, has reached the top in the latest Test rankings released by the ICC.

Root has topped the Test rankings for the first time in 6 years. Root was ninth in the batsmen's rankings earlier this year. Root has 916 points, while second-ranked New Zealand captain Ken Williamson has 901 points. Australian batsman Steve Smith is in third place with 891 points.

 

 

 On the other hand, Indian captain Virat Kohli has dropped out of the top five for the first time in five years. Kohli has lost 9 points and now he has reached the sixth position with 766 points.

Meanwhile, Indian opener Rohit Sharma has joined the top five for the first time. Rohit has consistently excelled in Test cricket. Rohit is fifth with 773 points.

In the bowlers' rankings, James Anderson has the advantage of a brilliant performance against India. Anderson has now reached fifth place. Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins remains at number one, while R Ashwin remains at number two.
