Savarkar helped Nathu Ram Godse to get weapons to kill Mahatma Gandhi, alleges Tushar Gandhi

 MUMBAI:After Rahul Gandhi on Veer Savarkar, Tushar Gandhi, the great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, has said in a statement that Savarkar helped Nathuram Godse,to get weapons to kill Mahatma Gandhi. He tweeted that it was Savarkar who had provided arms to Nathuram Godse.

Tushar Gandhi wrote in a tweet, “Savarkar not only helped the British but he also helped Nathuram Godse get a better gun to kill Bapu.” Tushar Gandhi said that Nathuram Godse did not have any good weapon till two days before the assassination of Bapu.

In another tweet, Tushar Gandhi wrote, “Many attempts were made to kill Bapu in the 1930s. Prabodhankar Thackeray (Balasaheb Thackeray's father) warned Bapu's associates about the assassination plot in Akola and Vidarbha. After this it was written in another tweet, “Savarkar and Hedgewar were the leaders of the Hindu organization, so Prabodhankar's warning was addressed to them only. Such history should remind Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray."

In fact, during a rally in Maharashtra's Washim district, Rahul Gandhi had said about Savarkar that he was a slave of the British and had apologized to him through a letter while in jail. He said on Savarkar that when Savarkar was imprisoned for two-three years in Andaman jail, he wrote a letter to forgive us for his release.

Mahatma Gandhi's great grandson Tushar Gandhi has also taken part in the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi. Let us inform that on reaching Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra in Maharashtra's Buldhana, Tushar Gandhi was seen shaking hands with Rahul Gandhi on Friday (November 18).
