Sidhu Musewala murder case: Punjab Police seeks transit remand of Lawrence Bishnoi, Court reserves verdict
New Delhi, 14 June(FMnews) - Punjab Police has filed a petition in Delhi's Patiala House Court seeking transit remand of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. The court has reserved its decision on the demand for transit remand.
Today, Delhi Police produced gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in Patiala House Court in connection with the Arms Act. Bishnoi's lawyer Vishal Chopra said that if the Punjab Police needs to interrogate Bishnoi in this case, then he should arrest him in Delhi and interrogate him. Lawrence's police custody was ending today, after which the Special Cell of Delhi Police produced him in court. On June 10, the court sent Bishnoi to police custody till date.
Bishnoi's name has cropped up in the murder of Punjab singer Sidhu Musewala. Bishnoi had approached the Patiala House Court and the Delhi High Court, alleging an encounter with the Punjab Police, but the petition was rejected.
