Six youths killed in road mishap in Dehradun

DEHRADUN: At least 6 students, including three boys and three girls, aged between 19 and 24 years, died in a road accident in Uttarakhand on Tuesday, police said.

The accident occurred after the SUV carrying the youths rammed into a stationary heavy vehicle and then hit a tree in Dehradun.

While six occupants of the SUV died instantly, one was admitted to a local hospital in a serious condition. All the victims were local residents and were out for a picnic when the mishap took place.

The impact of the accident was such that the SUV was badly mangled, and the victims were brought out of it with the help of gas-cutters.
