Sports Minister Anurag Thakur congratulates Indian Badminton team, announces cash award of Rs 1 cr

NEW DELHI: Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has congratulated the Indian men’s Badminton team for winning the Thomas Cup 2022.

 In a tweet, Mr. Thakur said that the team India defeated fourteen times Thomas Cup Champions Indonesia to win its first ever Thomas Cup 2022.

 

 

 He further said that this extraordinary feat, with successive victories over Malaysia, Denmark and Indonesia, calls for matching honour by the nation.

 Mr. Thakur further said that Sports Ministry is proud to announce a cash award of one crore rupees for the team in relaxation of rules to acknowledge this unparalleled feat.
