Three people dead,over 50 injured after Amtrack train derails in Missouri
Missouri, June 28 (FMNews) - Three people are dead and at least 50 injured after an Amtrak train derailed Monday in Missouri, authorities said Monday evening.
According to reports,two of the people who were killed were aboard the train while the third was in a dump truck that the train struck.
The accident occured on Monday. It is reported that the Amtrak train derailed after colliding with a parked truck.
Amtrak Media Center has released details on its website, making it clear that eight cars and two locomotives of this train derailed after the accident. About 243 passengers and 12 crew members were on board this train. Initial reports of about 50 passengers getting injured in the accident have been received.
Amtrak Media Center has said – 'Our Incident Response Team has been activated. Emergency personnel are being deployed at the scene. Amtrak has issued a helpline number 800-523-9101 for this.
