Tokyo Olympic Hockey:Belgium defeats India 5-2,enters semi-final

 Tokyo, Aug 3 (FASTMAIL) - Alexander Hendrix's hat-trick helped Belgium beat the Indian men's hockey team 5-2 to reach the final of the Tokyo Olympics. In this exciting match, the Indian team was leading 2-1 at one point, but then Hendrix performed brilliantly and scored a hat trick to take Belgium to the final.

Both the teams started aggressively in the match. In the second minute of the match, Belgium got a penalty corner, which was converted into a goal by Loac Luipert to give his team a 1-0 lead. Only 5 minutes after this goal, in the seventh minute of the match, the Indian team got a penalty corner, which was converted into a goal by captain Manpreet Singh to give India a 1-1 draw.


 In the next minute, Mandeep Singh scored the best field goal to make India's lead 2-1. At the end of the first quarter, the Indian team was ahead 2-1. Belgium made a great comeback in the second quarter and Alexander Hendrix scored in the 19th minute to level the score at 2-2. In the 49th minute of the match, Hendrix scored his second goal of the match to give Belgium a 3-2 lead. Done.

Belgium got another penalty in the 53rd minute of the match and this time too Hendrix converted it into a goal to give his team a 4-2 lead.

6 seconds before the end of the match, John Dohman scored the goal to give Belgium a 5-2 lead and this score proved to be decisive. The Indian team will now play for the bronze medal.
