True secularism is planning without discrimination and providing benefits: PM Modi
Gandhinagar / New Delhi, May 12, (Fast Mail News):-- Regarding social justice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that our government does not look at religion or caste while planning or providing benefits, this is the real secularism. He said that for the BJP, the development of the country is a firm belief and commitment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of various projects worth about Rs 4,400 crore in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. These projects include foundation stone laying and inauguration of development projects worth more than Rs 2450 crore of Urban Development Department, Water Supply Department, Road and Transport Department and Mines and Minerals Department etc. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of PMAY (Rural and Urban) projects worth about Rs 1950 crore. During the same program participated in the Griha Pravesh of about 19,000 houses constructed under the scheme by handing over the keys to the beneficiaries of the scheme. He also interacted with the beneficiaries through video link.
Prime Minister Modi said in his address, “Today, our government is working to reach every poor person by removing every lack. Our government neither sees caste nor religion to reach the beneficiaries. Because I think where there is no discrimination, there is true secularism."
The Prime Minister said that for the BJP, the country's development is a firm belief and commitment. It has only been a few months since the formation of the BJP government in Gujarat, but seeing the pace at which development has taken place, it is a pleasure, a pleasant feeling. He said that moving forward with old failed policies can neither change the fate of the country nor can the country become successful. There is a huge difference in the approach and approach of the previous governments and today's government. We are really committed to the welfare of the poor.
The Prime Minister said that the PM-Awas Yojana has transformed the housing sector. This has especially benefited the poor and the middle class. He said that after 2014, we did not limit the house of the poor to just a pucca roof, rather we made the house a solid foundation of the fight against poverty. Along with the poor, the 'PM Awas Yojana' is also giving great strength to women empowerment. In the last 9 years, about 4 crore pucca houses have been provided to the poor families. About 70 percent of these houses are in the name of women beneficiaries.
He said that earlier there used to be arbitrariness in the real estate sector, there used to be complaints of cheating. There was no law to give protection to the middle class families. We enacted a RERA law, it has given protection to the middle class families. The BJP government is fully prepared to face the challenges of the future due to increasing urbanization in the country. The Prime Minister said that quality of life for people, whether poor or middle class, is possible only when they get a pure and clean environment to live in; Our country is on a mission mode to ensure the same. In 2014, only 14-15 per cent of the waste was processed in the country, whereas today it is 75 per cent.
