Two held in Dhenkanal Ostapal Petrol Pump Dacoity loot incident

 Dhenkanal,FASTMAIL -:Dhenkanal, police busted a criminal gang involved in several petrol pump dacoity and other criminal cases today. Police have arrested two people  in this connection and seized two pistols, five magazines,12 mobile phones, various sharp weapons and 20 round of live bullets from their possession.

The arrested are identified as Sipun Mohanty of Bega,Dhenkanal and Prasant Nayak of  Puran Jagatsinghpur area.

Dhenkanal SP K.Siva Subramani addressing media in Dhenkanal today said that these dacoits have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the Ostapal petrol pump in Dhenkanal district on August 19, including two pistols,one 9mm pistol and the other 7.5mm pistol  five magazines, 20 rounds of live ammunition, 12 mobile phones and two firearms.



 This gang had  looted Rs 49,646 rupees from two sales man of Ostapal petrol pump at gun point. After Ostapal robbery, this notorious gang looted four other petrol pumps in Cuttack district; They were involved in various dacoity, robbery and extortion cases. Police have arrested one of the accused from Jagatsinghpur and the other one from Nihal Prasad in Dhenkanal district.

SP said, "There is an infamous gang called Hati-kalia in who were operating in various crime cases in Jagatsinghpur and other districts. These two criminals are linked to this notorious Hati-Kalia gang.They had robbed four other petrol pumps in same day in Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts. Earlier, we had arrested sixan persons in various loot and robbery incidents linked to Hati-kalia gang. These two criminals  have 17 cases of crime  in their names in different police station”.

SP added, "We have sent them to judicial custody today .But we have requested a four day remand  to our custody for further investigation in Baladia Bandha petrol pump dacoity and Athagarh ATM Van loot incident.
