US : Tik Tok files petition for injunction in court
San Francisco, September 24 (Fast Mail News) - The popular ByteDance popular app 'Tiktok' has petitioned against the Trump administration in a district court here on Wednesday. The petition states that its purpose is to protect against legal manoeuvre and to serve the company with this multi-purpose app in the US.
The petition filed in the District Court, in response to the Trump Administration's Commerce Department regulations, states that the Trump administration spoke of a ban on the app in the US until September 20. It was withheld for US users until Sunday to remove or download the TickTok app from their respective app stores and provide software updates.
It is noteworthy that Tiktok is owned by a Chinese Internet company 'BiteDance'. President Donald Trump has said that unless the Chinese-owned BiteDance is clamped on the ticket, he cannot allow the country to operate in the US for security reasons. For this, the President has already issued an executive order in August last saying that ByteDance should sell all their rights in America.
There was also an agreement between Oracle and Walmart between ByteDance but ByteDance retained full ownership rights, with 80 percent of its share.
