Vibodh demands Dr. Farooq Abdullah's resignation as MP over Roshni scam
Jammu, November 25: Terming Article 370 as biggest roadblock in the rights of tribal community, senior BJP leader and former member of Legislative Council, Advocate Vibodh Gupta J&K has said that reservation to ST community in DDC elections is testimony how Modi government desires to empower Gujjars & Bakerwals and Paharis. Gupta said that despite having nearly major chunk of population in J&K, the socio-economically disadvantaged tribal community (ST) had no political reservation and tribals residing in forests since generations had no rights or protection.
"Modi government has reserved seats for ST community only because they want to empower this community", he said, adding that Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 has now been made applicable and mission is on to protect their rights. "The biggest beneficiaries of abrogation of article 370 are tribals as they are going to get every right for which they have been striving hard for the last 60 years", he added. Accusing "Gupkar Gang" as elements having anti-national ideology, Gupta said that those who are against flag of India are anti-nationals and misleading forces. "They are puppets of Pakistan and China", Gupta said without naming any particular leader. Terming Abdullahs as beneficiaries of Roshni Act, Gupta said that it has come in the public domain that both of offices of National Conference at Jammu & Srinagar were grabbed through Roshni Act besides the land at Bhatindi was purchased from a nomad in 1979 and was transferred in the name of senior Abdullah under Roshni Act.
