Victory For Democracy : Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, 19 Nov(FASTMAIL) - Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after announcing the withdrawal of three agricultural laws by the central government, said that today is a golden day in the history of India. Chief Minister Arvind said that the central government had to bow before the farmers' struggle and withdraw all the three black laws.

Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Kejriwal said that the farmers told that in democracy, the governments will always have to listen to the people. Today is a golden day in the history of India and today will be written in Indian history like 15th August and 26th January.

Further, the Chief Minister said that efforts were made to break the spirits of the farmers by calling them terrorists, Khalistani and anti-nationals, but like the freedom fighters, the farmers fought and won. Had these laws been withdrawn earlier, the lives of more than 700 farmers who were martyred in the movement could have been saved.

The Chief Minister said that in the history of the whole world, there could hardly have been a movement bigger or longer than this. Millions of people fought so peacefully. In the harsh sun, in the rain, in the cold, they did not back down. The entire machinery along with the government and its agencies did not know what efforts were made to break this movement.

In this context, he said that farmers were even called terrorists and Khalistanis. Attempts were made to break the spirits of the farmers by encircling them in every way, but it was also a fight for freedom for the farmers and today like the freedom fighters, the farmers fought and won this battle tightly.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that today it is very sad that more than 700 farmers lost their lives in this movement. It was not needed. Had these laws been withdrawn earlier, their lives could have been saved. We salute these martyrs. I also have a lot of proof to their family. For the peace of their soul, Wahe prays to Guruji to remove all the troubles from his family.
